Ellen is a Registered Clinical Psychologist with the New Zealand Psychologists Board and an associate member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists. She completed a First Class Honours Degree in Psychology, a Masters Degree in Psychology, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology at the University of Canterbury. Ellen has experience in public mental health settings, within the criminal justice sector, with carrying out comprehensive clinical assessments and individual and group treatment.
Ellen has a passion for enhancing mental well-being, utilising Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She provides compassionate, culturally responsive and personalised psychological treatment to meet each client's needs.
Using an evidence-based and client-centered approach, Ellen tailors assessments and therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of each individual. Ellen enjoys working with a diverse range of individuals struggling with mood and anxiety difficulties, and has a particular interest in assessing adult ADHD.
Alongside private work, Ellen continues to work in the criminal justice sector with the Department of Corrections where she provides assessment and treatment for clients. Ellen loves to spend her spare time in the great outdoors. She enjoys a good tramp, and when the snow comes she loves to head up the mountain with her skis.
Adult ADHD assessments $1800
These assessments are provided as a package that includes at least two 90 minute assessment interviews, relevant ADHD psychometric testing and the collection and interpretation of other information. The package also includes the provision of a psychological report which includes diagnosis where appropriate and relevant.
A referral from your GP is preferred, but not necessary, to secure an ADHD assessment.
Please note, Ellen is not currently accepting new referrals for therapy
Initial consultation appointment $250
In order to establish an understanding of your key concerns and create a tailored treatment plan, an initial 90 minute consultation appointment is required. This will help you and Ellen to collaboratively determine a treatment pathway, should it be considered appropriate.
Therapy sessions $190
Therapy appointments are scheduled for 50 minutes, following an initial consultation appointment. Subsequent to an initial consultation, frequency and number of sessions can be determined.
